Samsung Ballie – the personal assistant
Ballie is a small robot resembling a tennis ball.
The robot is intended to fit into the connected home and to become a personal assistant of a new kind, since it will follow you everywhere. With a built-in camera and its onboard artificial intelligence, Ballie can respond to your slightest request.
Samsung has not yet mentioned when Ballie will be available, nor at what price.
ACTRONIKA and the haptic vest
The Parisian start-up Actronika has unveiled a haptic feedback vest that reproduces realistic sensations for virtual and augmented reality.
It thus makes it possible to feel the sensation of touch in the real world according to the events that occur in virtual reality.
In the world of gaming or of professional training, this technology allows total immersion by reproducing sensations in real time such as fire, wind, the use of tools, gunfire or social interactions.

Autonomous flying taxis
Hyundai, in partnership with Uber, has presented a flying taxi prototype, the S-A1, which has a cruising speed of up to 290 km/h and can carry up to four people.
The aircraft uses “distributed electric propulsion”, designed with several rotors that can keep it in the air if one of them has a problem.
Testing during 2020 and commercial release planned for 2023.

The windscreen of the future
BMW imagines a cockpit dedicated to autonomous mobility and presents the BMW i Interaction EASE concept. The latter can play films, give information about the outside environment or offer a relaxing experience.
The most innovative element is the vehicle’s artificial intelligence coupled with monitoring of the occupants’ gaze.

Charmin Rollbot – the robot in the toilet
Procter & Gamble has unveiled a robot with a single objective: to bring you paper when you are in the toilet and have run out.
Named Charmin Rollbot, it is controlled from a smartphone thanks to a Bluetooth connection
For now, Procter & Gamble has no intention of marketing its robot. Phew…

The connected lock
This Wi-Fi smart lock presented by August allows you to lock or unlock a door remotely and to grant access to family members, friends and trusted visitors directly from your smartphone.
You can know who comes and goes at any time, with push notifications.
There are also automatic locking and unlocking functions.
August indicates that the Wi-Fi Smart Lock will soon be available for purchase on its website without specifying the release date or the selling price.

The foldable tablet with an OLED screen
Lenovo presents the first tablet with a foldable OLED screen, named Thinkpad x1 Fold.
The screen used is completely flat, it measures 13.3 inches diagonally with a 4:3 display ratio and a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels (like an iPad).
Lenovo promises 11 hours of battery life, there is also 8 GB of LPDDR4X memory, an SSD of up to 1 TB (PCIe-NVMe M.2) and Intel’s Lakefield hybrid processor.
The ThinkPad X1 Fold goes on sale in the second half of 2020 from 2,499 dollars.
The exoskeleton designed to relieve human labour
The exoskeleton imagined, designed and manufactured by the company Sarcos Robotics and named Guardian XO gives you the strength of 20 men.
The exoskeleton offers a battery life of between 2 and 8 hours, powered by two batteries of 500 W each which can be hot-swapped.
Alpha versions of the suit are already being rented by partner companies of Sarcos Robotics for a price of 90,000 euros per year.
The Digit bipedal delivery robot
Ford has unveiled, in partnership with Agility Robotics, a bipedal robot named Digit, able to carry boxes and load them into a van.
Made from a lightweight material, fitted with arms ending in rubberised stumps, this robot is able to go up and down stairs, to walk over rough ground and manages to keep its balance when it is knocked, all while carrying packages that can weigh up to 18 kg.

The Juno reverse microwave
This thermoelectric device is able to chill liquids in only 1 to 2 minutes for cans (33 cl) and 5 minutes for larger bottles (750 ml).
It is still possible to pre-order it by paying €179, before it goes up to €360 at its launch, which should take place in August 2020

What is the CES (Consumer Electronic Show)?
The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, has become the biggest show devoted to technological innovation in consumer electronics. It is held annually at the beginning of January in Las Vegas, Nevada and it is organised by the Consumer Technology Association.
