Building a queuing system with filtering

The need

Launched in 2014 in Lille, Pumpkin started out as a mobile app for instant, free payments and reimbursements between individuals in a secure environment. The app lets users send or request money from their contacts through the interface of a mobile number.

With 1.2 million users and more than 250 million euros exchanged, Pumpkin now offers a current account and a bank card together with a cashback programme, and makes it possible to manage savings or transfer payments.

Pumpkin aims to increase the share of purchases made through its payment solution from 20 to 30% a year.

Our approach
  • Optimise the management of their student-union ticket sales: when student unions integrate their online payment system, heavy traffic is generated on the platform. That peak can bring the infrastructure “down”. To solve this problem, a queuing system with filtering was put in place.

  • Receive advice on AWS regarding Cloud architecture and scalability (via AWS ECS).
