AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a genuine growth lever for French companies. According to a survey by Public First, every euro invested in this Cloud is said to generate a 10% return on investment. Agility, security, scalability, billing, it offers real advantages.

An expert in application development and managed services, Premaccess is one of the Advanced Partners of AWS (and is also an Amazon Managed Services – AMS partner). Our team helps many companies take advantage of the strengths of this Cloud.

Discover the advantages of Amazon Web Services and the importance of being supported in this Cloud environment in order to optimise the growth of your company.

  • Strength 1: The Cloud helped maintain worker productivity in 2020
  • Strength 2: Companies save money and gain additional revenue

  • Strength 4: AWS helps companies innovate
  • Good reasons to be supported during your migration to AWS

In 15 years, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has become unavoidable among Cloud providers. Created in 2006, it now accounts for 1/3 of the market. In order to better understand its impact on the French economy, it commissioned the consultancy Public First to carry out a study on the use and the benefits of its services among companies.

And the answers were unequivocal. This national survey, conducted among 1005 organisations (SMEs, mid-caps, start-ups and large groups), shows that:

  • companies relying on AWS generated 1.6 billion euros in 2020,
  • more than 60% of the AWS customers surveyed could not run their business as it exists today without the Cloud.

At Premaccess, we are not surprised by these results. AWS specialists for more than 6 years, we support our clients through their migration to this Cloud, aware of its power to push us to innovate and to reinvent our business over the past several years.

So, if you are still hesitating about getting started on AWS, discover:

  • The 4 strengths of this Cloud computing for growing your company.
  • Good reasons to be advised during your migration to AWS. The goal: optimise your time and your spending.

Strength 1: The Cloud helped maintain worker productivity in 2020

In 2020, with the Covid-19 pandemic, the proportion of people working from home more than doubled compared with the previous year – reaching 49%, about half of the working population. Never seen before in France.

This shift was helped by online collaboration tools (video conferencing, shared workspaces, project management software…).

Among the companies providing these online tools (services known as “software-as-a-service” – SaaS), many rely on the AWS Cloud. Fourteen of the 25 largest SaaS companies in the world use AWS. They include, in particular, Zoom, Slack and Atlassian

By relying on robust platforms such as AWS, these companies can take advantage of the agility of this Cloud technology to adapt optimally to growing demand.

As an example, during 2020, the number of participants in daily meetings on Zoom rose from around 10 million to more than 300 million.

Strength 2: Companies save money and gain additional revenue

The Cloud makes it possible to accelerate the activities of companies and to improve their business model.

Indeed:

  • AWS offers pay-as-you-go pricing. Small companies therefore no longer need large amounts of capital to buy servers they may never use.
  • Thanks to the flexibility of this Cloud, companies can adjust their capacity overnight, or even from one hour to the next. This allows them to meet a peak in demand in the event of seasonal traffic or a one-off event.

These factors make real savings possible. On average, small companies that are AWS customers reported saving 16,700 euros over the year thanks to their investment in the Cloud.

Savings that they reinvested to generate additional revenue:

  • By offering new types of products
  • By being + agile with their offer
  • By reaching other national and international markets.

Strength 3: AWS ensures the security and confidentiality of data

As “ransomware” attacks become ever more numerous, companies have every interest in protecting their know-how and their data so as not to jeopardise their business.

In this case, AWS offers them the following services:

  • Precise controls over where data is stored, how it is encrypted and who can access it at any time.
  • Monitoring of AWS infrastructure 24/7 by a dedicated team of security experts to detect any intrusions.
  • Continual updating of all software, with the option to automate recurring security checks.
  • The ability to comply easily with local laws and regulations on data protection.
  • Access to a wider ecosystem of partners specialising in security, offering advice on the best practices to adopt.

In addition, AWS holds national certifications, notably Health Data Hosting (HDS) for health data, to guard against cyber-attacks.

Strength 4: AWS helps companies innovate

Cloud services allow companies not only to cut costs, but also to innovate and to become world leaders:

According to this survey, there is a clear link between the growth of companies and the direct use of the Cloud:

  • 43% of the companies that invest in the Cloud reported having grown over the past three years, compared with only 30% of the companies that had not invested in the Cloud.
  • 27% of the companies that invest in the Cloud reported having grown by more than 5% a year over the past three years, compared with only 16% of the companies that had not invested in the Cloud.

Looking to the future, companies must evolve their tools but also their businesses if they want to innovate. At Premaccess, we support you at every stage of your growth on the Cloud. Our experts are here to listen.

Good reasons to be supported during your migration to AWS

Among Jeff Bezos’s many famous lines, one of them remains relevant: “It is always the right time to innovate”. Innovating to stay competitive!

Hosting, compute, archiving, Machine LearningUndeniably, the Cloud services of AWS are the ones that allow the greatest number of experiments, because of their power and their completeness (this provider has been the leader of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for several years now).

That said, the road to mastering the whole AWS offering can be a long one.

Technical teams often experiment with their projects on this Cloud by feeling their way, for lack of knowledge. Yet before that, it is essential to guarantee an ROI (return on investment) to your management and your shareholders, by setting up an opportunity study (Proof of Concept).

Moving to the AWS Cloud cannot be improvised! Transferring your existing estate like-for-like is not enough to obtain a financial gain.

To help companies take full advantage of everything the Cloud can offer, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has surrounded itself with expert partners in this field. Premaccess is one of them.

AWS found 3 shared values in the DNA of Premaccess :

  • An agile player that knows how to put people at the centre of your business and the business concerns of your users at the heart of its methodologies.

Choosing Premaccess to migrate to the AWS Cloud means making sure you have:
